Helping MSPCC Fulfill Its Mission
Volunteers are essential to help MSPCC fulfill its mission of protecting and promoting the rights and well being of children and families. Whether it's working directly with families, educating legislators and your community about children's issues, or helping to raise funds so we can continue to serve families, your efforts as a volunteer will make a difference. And those that you help will make a difference in your life, too.
Champion Advocacy Network (CAN)
The Champion Advocacy Network (CAN), our statewide education and advocacy group, gives you the opportunity to speak out on behalf of children. The CAN has two goals: to advocate for children at key points of the legislative process and to build effective working relationships with state legislators. As a volunteer, you'll work to educate and influence state legislators about the need to support families and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Fundraising and Community Education
In order to continue to provide prevention services to Massachusetts' families, it is necessary to raise awareness and promote support for our organization in the community. You can educate your communities about issues important to MSPCC, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Assistance is also needed to help plan and organize fundraising and special events. There are many levels of involvement, from one-time events to on-going planning meetings.

Working directly with children and families
Volunteering at MSPCC provides a variety of opportunities to make a difference in a child's life. We have programs that allow volunteers to work one on one with families in need, providing support and encouragement to new parents in their home, as well as programs where you can interact with groups of children. You choose a time commitment that works for you, from two hours a month to three hours a week. Whatever the amount, you can make an immeasurable difference in the life of a child as well as the child's family.
