Volunteer with MSPCC

MSPCC offers a variety of volunteer opportunities in regions across the state.  These opportunities may include assisting with childcare and administration in various support groups or being involved with The Children's Champion Advocacy Network (CCAN).  Other opportunities may include helping children at Jamaica Plain's After-School Program, serving food and planning activities in our Parent Centers, or assisting with special events.  To view our current volunteer opportunities, please consult the information below.

Statewide Opportunities

  • Holiday Gift Drive:  Help organize gift drive & recruit individuals or companies' employees to participate in gift giving.

  • The MSPCC Champions Advocacy Network (CAN):  Our statewide education and advocacy group gives you the opportunity to speak out on behalf of children.  The CAN has two goals: to advocate for children at key points of the legislative process and to build effective working relationships with state legislators.  As a volunteer, you'll work to educate and influence state legislators about the need to support families and prevent child abuse and neglect.

  • Sponsorship: Sponsor a child so he/she can go to camp.  If you do not have a lot of free time but would like to help a child, we have children who are in need of assistance to attend a week or two of summer camp or school vacation camp at MSPCC’s Kid’s Day Program in Jamaica Plain.

     Other Opportunities & Information

    • Our Holyoke location needs volunteers to perform a wide range of tasks.  From program support to interaction with the surrounding community, there are jobs for everyone.
For more information, please check out this document.
    • The MSPCC Parent Centers in Springfield and Holyoke provide a safe, nurturing, and fun, family environment for parents and their children to come for various arts and crafts activities, games, twice-weekly meals, and parenting workshops.  The Parent Centers need a variety of supplies ranging from crayons and other craft items to kitchen supplies like paper plates and cups.  If you would like to make a donation to the Parent Centers, please consult the attached document for a complete list of requested items.
    • Another great way to support MSPCC and the people we serve is by becoming a donor and supporting a family for one year.  There are families that need help obtaining the most basic items (e.g. baby items, clothing, school supplies, fuel help) and providing some of these things goes a long way towards making a difference throughout the year.  If you are interested in supporting a family, please fill out this form.
