Boston Marathon®

MSPCC has been selected by John Hancock as one of its charities to receive five charity waiver numbers!

It was a dream of mine to someday run the Boston Marathon----the MSPCC helped to make that dream come true in both 2008 and 2009!   When I decided to run,  I wanted to find an organization that supported children and the MSPCC was a perfect match!  I  believe that every child is a precious gift and deserves a childhood free of abuse.    The MSPCC works very hard in providing children with a safe and healthy environment and strives to put an end to child abuse.   For those reasons and so many more, I was able to train in the rain, snow, and very cold, knowing these were small obstacles in comparison to the ones that innocent children face on a daily basis.  Thanks MSPCC---it was both an honor and a privilege to represent you!!! - Geralyn Lannon

Proceeds raised by Team Protect Our Kids will help MSPCC provide child abuse and neglect prevention, mental health treatment, early intervention, and child development services to more than 30,000 children and families throughout the Commonwealth.  For the past three years, MSPCC has had the privilege to run as part the Boston Athletic Association's charity program.  Although that partnership has come to an end, MSPCC will take part in the Boston Marathon® this year with sponsorship from John Hancock.  With the support of John Hancock, we will be able to bring much needed attention and support to a cause that is often overlooked until it is too late.
