Early Intervention Services
MSPCC is one of Massachusetts' largest providers of Early Intervention services for children with, or at risk of, developmental delays. Because our greatest opportunities lie with the youngest children, Early Intervention services target the health and emotional well being of children from birth to three years old. Services are home- and community-based, specifically in the child’s natural setting. As an important part of our program, MSPCC addresses the needs and concerns of children and families, including but not limited to multi-cultural and linguistic minority families. Services are provided by culturally diverse, culturally sensitive and bilingual staff.
Who is Eligible?
MSPCC's Early Intervention services are available to families with children up to three years of age who have, or are at-risk of, developmental delay due to biological, medical or environmental factors. For example, children may qualify if they have a disabling condition, or if they are in an increased risk category due to premature birth, extreme family stress, etc.
The Early Intervention Program is certified by the Department of Public Health. Participation in the program is voluntary, and referrals are welcome.
Services Focusing On The Child's Needs
In order to better understand the unique needs of each child the program offers developmental assessments in the areas of social, cognitive, motor, language and self-care skills. Services are provided in the client's home and other natural settings. Early Intervention is located in Worcester, Lawrence, Springfield, and Holyoke. We can help connect families to available transportation services.
