Turning Points: An Evening to Benefit MSPCC
On April 4th, 2017, MSPCC raised more than $775,000 at its annual fundraising dinner at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Turning Points marked the organization’s 139th year ensuring the protection and care of children in Massachusetts.
The event honored MSPCC Board Chairperson Steve Pagliuca, of Bain Capital LLC and the Boston Celtics, for his 18 years of dedicated service to at-risk children and leadership at MSPCC; and presented the first Voice of the Child Award to The Boston Globe in recognition of their consistent, thorough, and distinguished coverage of child welfare issues.
Emceed by Billy Costa, attendees included Governor Charlie Baker and First Lady Lauren Baker; Event Chairs Bob and Laura Reynolds, Bob and Alli Achtmeyer; Secretary of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders, DCF Commissioner Linda Spears, DMH Commissioner Joan Mikula and Maria Mossaides from The Massachusetts Office of the Child Advocate; and Celtics legends Walter McCarty and Cedric Maxwell.
