SUMMARY:Reflective Consultation 2025-2026 Training & Kick-Off
DESCRIPTION:The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Partnership between the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) and the Massachusetts Association for Infant Mental Health (MassAIMH) is pleased to share that we will be offering 2 cycles of our 5-month Reflective Consultation Offering for 2025-2026 consisting of web-based group reflection experience with a MassAIMH Endorsed®/vetted provider. This offering is in service of our ongoing commitment to diversify and strengthen the early childhood workforce by creating equitable access to reflective consultation and will take place from September 2025 – June 2026. \nReflective Consultation (RC) is a form of ongoing professional development that supports professionals in their ability to understand\, make meaning of and manage the intense situations and emotions experienced in their work and impacts better practice and care. Reflective Consultation provides a relational space to offer nurturing to those who nurture others. It is considered best practice in the infant and early childhood field for direct workforce\, supervisors and systems leaders and is proven to reduce burnout\, vicarious trauma\, increase job satisfaction\, and help professionals to assess and improve their own practice. \nReflective Consultation Group Sessions: What to Know \n\nRC Group sessions will be offered in 2 cycles of 5 month commitments between September 2025 and June 2026\nRC groups are multidisciplinary groups and participants can register for one or both cycles\nSessions are virtual\, meeting twice a month (10 total sessions per cycle)\nSession duration is 90 mins per session (Totaling 15 hrs of Reflective Consultation per cycle)\nThese hrs will count towards the requirement for MassAIMH Endorsement®\n3 hours of training per cycle on Reflective Consultation and Practice. These 3 hrs of training are REQUIRED.\nIn total\, 18 RC hours per cycle will count towards the requirement for MassAIMH Endorsement®\nEach group is facilitated by a MassAIMH Endorsed® professional\nThe group facilitator’s name and contact information will be shared with participants the first week of September\, along with the first session time and date.\nEach group facilitator\, with input from the respective participants\, decides the ongoing meeting days and times for the remaining 5 month experience.\nA commitment to all of the above noted expectations is a part of the application process.\n\nCOST* \nDue to the current fiscal climate\, we are not able to cover the cost as we have done in the past through grants and contracts. Despite this\, we know that there is still great interest from the workforce in receiving Reflective Consultation and we are committed to continuing to offer them. Holding the Diversity Informed Tenets as central\, we want to make sure that the burden of cost does not fall on the individual professional\, and so we encourage you to reach out to the leadership of your organization or system to cover the costs. \n$1000 / person for each 5 month cycle. (Payment plans may be available based on need) \nEach cycle includes 15 hours of RC + 3 hours of RC training. Participants can register for one or both cycles. \n*Enclosed HERE is a sample letter for your supervisor/organization to support your participation \nApplication Deadline: September 22nd\, 2025
