Turning Points: An Evening to Benefit MSPCC

Event emcee Billy Costa.

On Thursday, April 3, more than 230 MSPCC friends and supporters filled the ballroom at Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza for Turning Points, the organization’s signature annual fundraiser. The event, emceed by Kiss 108 radio personality Billy Costa, raised more than $500,000 for MSPCC’s programs.

Board Chair Reetika Vijay.

MSPCC’s new Board of Advisors Chair, Reetika Vijay, addressed the crowd for the first time in her new role, telling the audience, “I am in awe. In awe that all of you could be anywhere else tonight, but you chose to come here to support children who so desperately need your help.” Reflecting upon her own journey as an MSPCC supporter and personal experiences, Vijay quoted Nelson Mandela and remarked, “Here I am, standing in front of all of you, championing collective consensus to support our children in achieving a life free of violence and fear.”

After hearing from MSPCC Executive Director Nancy Allen-Scannell, who noted the importance of coming together on behalf of children and families in uncertain times, attendees had the chance to learn about Encompass, an MSPCC program that was initially announced at Turning Points in 2022. The program was piloted and implemented in Central Massachusetts and had such success that it will now become a statewide program providing services to foster families through 1:1 peer trauma coaching, peer support groups, and other support.

The evening also provided an opportunity to recognize some of MSPCC’s most steadfast supporters:

Fidelity Investments was honored with the 2025 MSPCC Friend of the Child award for their long-standing support of MSPCC’s work and their broader commitment to drive transformational change in under-resourced communities. Vice President for Community Relations Theresa Robinson Pelletier was on hand to accept the award on the company’s behalf and to acknowledge the ongoing partnership between MSPCC and Fidelity Investments.

Chuck Senatore is honored by MSPCC Executive Director Nancy Allen-Scannell.

Outgoing MSPCC Board of Advisors Chair Chuck Senatore received the 2025 MSPCC Voice of the Child award for his years of service to MSPCC. Senatore, who has served on the Board since 2013 and became Chair in 2017, was joined on stage by his family as he was honored by Vijay, Allen-Scannell, and Massachusetts Undersecretary for Human Services and former MSPCC Executive Director Mary McGeown.
