Dear Evan Hansen Panel Discussion and Performance

On Sunday, July 14, 2019, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) and The Nan Project will host a panel discussion on adolescent mental health followed by a performance of the Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen at the Boston Opera House. 

Winner of six Tony Awards® including Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen is a contemporary musical that addresses topics including youth mental health and suicide. According to the most recent results of the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance Survey (YRBS), 27.4% of Massachusetts high school students reported feeling so sad or down that they stopped doing usual activities, and 12% of high school students reported seriously considering suicide in the past year. Teachers are often the first adults to notice when students are struggling and can be in an ideal position to connect students with help, when needed.
