In this workshop by Dr. Marva L. Lewis, PH.D, IMHM-E®, you as facilitators will learn skills to co-facilitate a Talk, Touch & Listen Parent Cafe in the communities you serve. The workshop’s title TALK, TOUCH, & LISTEN™ for HEART-CENTERED PARENTING DURING CAREGIVING ROUTINES is a culturally grounded, community-based program to support parent-child bonds through the powerful opportunity of everyday childcare routines.
This approach promotes rich interaction during everyday routines of hair combing, mealtime, bath time & bedtime stories that benefit children’s development and well-being. The program promotes three parenting behaviors: radical listening, gentle physical touch, and lively, call-and-response musical style talk for conversations between parents and their children.
This workshop also meets competencies towards the MassAIMH Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement® credential
