MSPCC Leads Efforts to Recognize Celebrate Babies Week in MA

From October 21-25, 2024, MSPCC and MassAIMH joined organizations around the country in recognizing Celebrate Babies Week, a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness of and celebrating the individuals, families, groups, and systems working to promote the well-being of expectant parents, infants, toddlers, and their families.

As an organization devoted to protecting and promoting the rights and well-being of children and families, we were especially excited to partake in this year’s celebrations. In addition to sharing resources across our social platforms, MSPCC staff and partners shared their own baby photos and discussed how they celebrate babies in their personal and professional lives (take a look here!).

Virtual event attendees shared the myriad ways they champion babies and families.

The cornerstone event of the week was a virtual convening of practitioners, partners, and community members who support and champion babies and their families through advocacy and in their personal and professional lives. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from Nancy Allen-Scannell, Executive Director of MSPCC; Aditi Subramaniam, Director of Infant and Early Child Mental Health Policy at MSPCC; Anat Weisenfreund, MassAIMH Board President; and Dr. Jayne Singer, Clinical Director of the Child and Parent Program in the Boston Children’s Hospital Developmental Medicine Center, before participating in group and one-on-one discussions.

Finally, MSPCC was proud to spearhead efforts to obtain a gubernatorial proclamation to officially recognize Celebrate Babies Week across the Commonwealth.
