Members of MSPCC’s Holyoke Parents As Teachers team recently traveled to the international Parents As Teachers Conference to present and share insights on their work. Nancy Ritz, Prevention Director, and Brittani Bey, Program Supervisor, presented a workshop titled “Enhancing Outcomes through CQI and Family Engagement.” It was their second year facilitating a workshop at this conference. In addition, Parent Educators Elizabeth Paskins, Nayadette Torres, and Nancy Garcia participated in a panel discussion about a $25,000 grant award received from the National Parents As Teachers office for facilitating STEM-focused groups for families.

The conference, which this year had the theme “Reach New Heights/Alcanzar Nuevas Alturas,” brought together more than 1,400 early childhood professionals for networking and peer-to-peer learning.
Parents as Teachers is a national program that offers free parent education through personal visits and activities for families that are expecting a child to those with children up to the age of five years old. To learn more about Parents As Teachers, please click here.
