Each year, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) presents the Friend of the Child Award to a community partner that has provided ongoing support of MSPCC’s work on behalf of children and families across Massachusetts. This year, the award will be presented to Bain Capital Children’s Charity.

For more than two decades, Bain Capital has been one of MSPCC’s most dedicated supporters. Through its Bain Capital Children’s Charity, Bain Capital has directly contributed more than $1 million to MSPCC’s work, and its employees have individually contributed more than $1.8 million. The company has also helped MSPCC develop key partnerships throughout the business community: companies who have historically supported MSPCC due to their relationship with Bain Capital have contributed more than $3.8 million. Because of this generosity – $6.6 million in total support – MSPCC has been able to provide services to thousands of children and families across Massachusetts; shape state-level policy in focus areas like child abuse prevention, foster care, and children’s mental health; and lead the way in ensuring children across Massachusetts grow up safe, happy, and thriving.

Members of Bain Capital’s team have dedicated significant time and expertise to MSPCC, sharing their knowledge and guiding the organization through a multitude of transitions and milestones. Former Co-Chairman and current Senior Advisor Steve Pagliuca served on MSPCC’s Board of Advisors for 18 years (including 14 as Board Chair), and Managing Director and Head of North American Private Equity HR & Talent Development Susan Levine has been an active and engaged member of the Board for the past seven years. Bain Capital professionals also serve on MSPCC’s Young Professional Board, acting as advocates in the community and cultivating a new generation of MSPCC supporters.

“We have been honored to stand alongside MSPCC in their mission to protect children and strengthen families for more than twenty years,” said Chris Mann, Bain Capital’s Head of Community Affairs. “Our support reflects a shared commitment to ensuring every child has the care, stability, and opportunity they need to thrive.”

The Friend of the Child Award will be presented at MSPCC’s BFF Gala: Brighter Futures for Families at Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza on March 31. To learn more about the gala and explore sponsorship opportunities, please click here.
