MSPCC Adoption Resources

 

MSPCC Adoption Services – MSPCC works with families looking to adopt through foster care, providing information and training before helping to match children and families.

Adoptive Families Together (AFT) –  MSPCC’s statewide network of adoptive families that provides peer support, information and education.

Workshop for Parents and Children – MSPCC’s also offers W.I.S.E. Up, an award winning curriculum to teach children ages 6 through 12 how to respond to questions about their adoption experience.

Kid’s Net – MSPCC provides support to foster, adoptive and kinship parents who care for children in DCF custody. Services include training, family respite, childcare and a 24 hour HelpLine.

Massachusetts Alliance for Families (MAFF) – An advocacy association dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for foster children and families.

Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange – MARE is a great place to start when beginning to gather information about adoption from foster care in Massachusetts.

PACT – An organization focusing on providing resources and services for transracial adoption.

Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.)  – A non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and education to the adoption community.

The Child Welfare Information Gateway – A wealth of resources and information pertaining to adoption. They have resources on everything from an “Intrroduction to Adoption” to information about search and reunion.

The National Adoption Center – An organization offering a variety of online adoption education, information and support services. Includes weekly moderated chats, interaction with adoptive families and professionals through the message boards and an online family preparation course.

Adoption Learning Partners – A web-based educational adoption resource which offers timely, interactive, e-learning courses for professionals, parents, adopted individuals, and adoptive families.

Donaldson Adoption Institute – The Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute provides adoption research and information to media, lawmakers and individuals on topics such as survey data and governmental research data.

Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption – Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of adoptions of children in the foster care system. The website also has resources for adoptive parents.
